Victorian data is currently unavailable. We apologise, and are working to add it back as soon as we're able.

Capital Cities Overview

House prices are now lower than a year ago in every capital city, with units following in all but Darwin. Drops over the prior twelve months are largest in Sydney, followed by Canberra and Brisbane.

Sydney, Canberra, and Hobart were close to flat this month for both houses and units. Perth dropped the most steeply.

Regional Centres

One-year growth for houses is now negative or close to zero across most of our key regional indices. The largest declines over the year are in the coastal regions we track in New South Wales and South East Queensland.

Over three months, the largest declines are in Geraldton, Townsville, Bunbury, and Busselton. These were among the strongest regional indices earlier this year, and their five-year growth remains among the highest in our regional set.

Capital City SA4s

Most Sydney SA4s show house price growth for the month, led by the higher-priced regions in the north and east. Unit prices are also up in these regions, but down in the Outer West and South West. The ACT is up for both houses and units.

This month, units are falling faster than houses in every SA4 in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Darwin.
