Capital Cities Overview
House and unit prices are close to flat for the month in Sydney, Canberra, and Hobart. Prices fell in the other capitals, most sharply in Perth.
Regional Centres
Three-month growth is now negative for all our key regional indices.
One-year growth is now flat or negative for houses in Newcastle - Maitland, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast - Tweed Heads, Central Coast, and Wollongong. Of the regions with geometric mean prices above $1M, only Busselton is still positive.
For units, one-year growth is negative for Central Coast and Wollongong, but positive elsewhere.
Capital City SA4s
Sydney's inner and eastern SA4s, ACT, and Hobart are showing growth for the month, led by Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, which are up 1%. Other capitals are still in decline over the month.
Steepest declines over the month are in Perth, led by units in the Eastern SA4s.
The diversity of 5-year changes across metro SA4s is substantial. For houses, this value currently ranges from a flat 0% in Sydney's Northern Beaches to +84% in South East Perth.
